ACTIVITY: |

- Wetting Ability; The ability to wet soils and substrates is important to detergency, the fact is that most relatively effective detergents (with high active matter) are not necessarily the best wetting agents. ETRON™40 provides the excellent wetting properties.
- Solubilization; In the process of soil removal a number of factors are operative and one of these is solubilization. ETRON™40 is the most effective solubilizer and yields the highest soil removal.
- Optimized for use in water-based degreasing and cleaning formulations.
- Promotes and strengthen the foaming power of anionic surfactants in hard water cleaning.
- It is highly effective in the removal of organic soils such as greases, fats and oils.
- Increase the foam density of detergents.
- Enhances the penetration of anionic detergents more effectively on the target dirt and stains.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT |

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE |
| |
- 1.0%(Min) of the final mixture in detergent cake and dish-bar.
- 20% of Acid Slurry in detergent powders.
- 0.1 to 0.3% should be diluted in sufficient quantity of water to solublize the color pigment before its addition for better results and economics.

STORAGE AND SHELFLIFE |

- For longer shelflife it is recommended to store in closed original container.

HOUSEHOLD SURFACTANTS |
| |
The largest outlet for ETRON™40 in future will be in the formulation of cleaners for household and industrial use. They can be compounded as liquids, powders, pastes, or bars depending upon the specific application.
Other household products in which ETRON™40 is recommended are window cleaners, metal dip cleaners, wallpaper remover and mechanical dishwashing detergents etc.

Textile :- |

| Scouring |
In the textile scouring operations for both natural and synthetic fibers, ETRON™40 plays a very important role. Since the process conditions for scouring are so varied, accordingly the different grades are also available to take care a specific application.
Wool-scouring, cotton Kier boiling, boiling of viscous and soaping-off are examples of some of the types of scouring operations. ETRON™ grades are normally used in the 0.1 to 1.0% concentration plus some organophosphate and other alkalis. By use of ETRON™ the scouring time is reduced and soap “curds” are eliminated.
Also, since ETRON™40 is not substantive to fibers, balling as a result of detergent residues is eliminated in the cording operation.

| Lubricating |
Since the scouring operation removes the fats present in the initial material, materials have to be added back which will serve as lubricants, softeners and antistatics for the cording, spinning and weaving operation. ineral oil and/or vegetable oil can be emulsified with ETRON™ for uniform distribution and used as lubricants.

| Dyeing and Finishing |
The largest surfactant-consuming step in cotton processing is the dyeing and finishing step. ETRON™40 plays an important role in the process, owing to their actions as penetrants, wetting agents and dyeing assistants. The mode of action of dyeing assistance seems to involve the agglomeration of dyestuff molecules into micelles and ETRON™40 serves well in this capacity.

Paper :- |

ETRON™40 finds a number of uses in the paper industry. Used as Rewetting agent to improve the absorbency of wet-strength paper, i.e., paper towels. ETRON™40 is also used for the rapid penetration of treating solutions into impregnated paper or box board. It is also recommended to be used in pulping of old paper, as well as in the deinking of old newsprint.

Normally, leather goes through four basic processing operations – degreasing, tanning, fat – liquoring and finishing. In each operation the ETRON™40 has an excellent performance in comparison with the other nonionic products available in the market.

Paint :- |

The use of wetting agents and emulsifiers in the emulsion polymerization of base lactices is well-know. The choice of a particular surfactant depends on the particular monomer being reacted and the and the properties desired in the final emulsion. ETRON™40 is a superior nonionic emulsifier because of its tolerance to hard water.
In paint – formulating operations, stabilized latex emulsion is sometimes subject to coagulation with severe agitation or milling. The use of ETRON™40 overcomes this problem.
